On this walk we will discover the rich history of the almost 800 years old Buda castle, that history’s traces in the current buildings – but all in a fun, storytelling way! We will be focusing on the unique events, that happened here, the outstanding people that were present in the castle district and the architecture, that makes the Buda castle one of its kind. Oh, and there will be plenty of legends too! Lively, multicultural, international trading town in the Middle Ages, strategically important spot in the siege of Budapest in WW2, a home to government offices and amazing museums, while people continuously living in its houses – the Buda castle area truly is a magical place! On this walk we will explore the whole castle area, both its famous touristy parts and its “average” streets. All of which are full of stories and legends! Major sights along the way: * Bécsi kapu square * Hadik square * Sandor palace * Karmelita monastery * Royal palace * Matthias church The tour is 2,5 hrs long, starts and ends within the castle district.
