The Shoes Memorial is set up just on the edge of the embankment reminds us of the terror of the last years of World War II. Visiting this spot is an exceptionally touching experience. The Jewish district houses the second largest Synagogue of the World. Being at the border of the ghetto, the complex of Dohany Street includes the Memorial Garden with the famous Tree of Life and Heroes' Temple, the graveyard and the Jewish Museum, which was built on the site on which Theodor Herzl's house of birth stood.
